Hi, I’m Anfisa, a former USA National Team member, certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, and the founder of Anova Athletics.
My passion for movement started early. I began rhythmic gymnastics at age 7 and eventually earned a spot on the Senior USA Rhythmic Group National Team. Elite gymnastics shaped the way I see training: technique, control, and precision aren’t optional, they are everything.
After a hip injury ended my competitive career, I faced a major turning point in my identity and sport. I learned that rebuilding strength wasn’t about pushing harder, it was about training smarter and focusing on what my body could do and not on what I couldn’t do anymore. That process helped me regain my health and confidence.
Now, after coaching for over 8 years, I’ve seen the same pattern again and again: most people aren’t failing because they lack motivation. They’re struggling because they haven’t been taught how to train with proper form, structure, and progression. I see people putting hard work in the gym but the movements aren’t efficient.
This is where I help the most.
I specialize in technique-first strength training for busy professionals who want to lose fat, build muscle, and feel confident in the gym. I help clients master the fundamentals, train safely around injuries, and build strength that actually transfers into daily life.
